New favorite product! Aveda Mosscara

Today I trained with the amazing Aveda makeup artist Lawrie Wallace and she showed me some tips and tricks with Aveda makeup. I had a big Aha moment when she taught me another way to use the mascara also known as Mosscara because of its conditioning properties. With a blend of Iceland moss and other pure plant extracts this product will leave your lashes lush and soft while delivering thickness and rich lasting color.

This 2 in 1 acts as a mascara for thick bold lashes and also a liquid liner. Here's how to use for a liner:

Use the Mosscara wand to scrap a little product onto a disposable cosmetic spatula. Take Avedas retractable lip brush and dip the tip of the brush in the mosscara. Next, starting at the top lash line draw a precise line from the inner to outer eye getting close to the lashes. Go over the line again to add a richer pigment. If you want a classic 50's look wing the line slightly up and outward.

Product located at Natural Oasis a WIlliam Edge Salon and Spa
Mosscara $18
Retractable brush $16

Allie's Wedding

Here's some shots of a wedding I did makeup for back in the summer. Allie and her mom were some of the sweetest people I have ever met. I'm so happy for her! :)

Put down the cheese please!

Did you know about 75% of the worlds population is genetically unable to properly digest milk and other dairy products?

Why dairy is bad for you: Here's just some of the facts....
* Dairy is not good for your bones (there is no evidence) and does not prevent osteoporosis. Countries with low rates of dairy consumption, like Asia, have the lowest rates of osteoporosis.
* Dairy aggravates IBS, allergies, eczema, sinus issues and more.
* Too much consumption comes out through your skin causing white heads and breakouts.
* Dairy is full of saturated fat and is linked to prostate cancer and heart disease

Cows milk is made for cows only..... makes sense right?

What you should do....
* Try cutting out dairy for 2 weeks and see how you feel. You'll have a clearer complexion, less bloating, constipation and gas, you will even lose weight and have more energy.
* Try consuming other foods full of calcium like leafy green vegetables, fruits, beans, seaweed, nuts and whole grains.
* Try fermented products like greek yogurt, kefir and kombucha tea for those good bacterias and probiotics.
* Sub unsweetened almond milk and Daiya cheese (found in Whole Foods)

My new favorite body products...

Hey guys, I've been really sick the past couple months and I haven't been able to blog at all. I'm finally healthy and back at it.

My new favorite scent...Kai!
I used to sell Kai when I was seventeen at a little spa boutique. After I stopped working there I never saw it in stores until I came across the line again at Therapy Systems in Green Hills Mall. I forgot how amazing the aroma is. It captures the irresistible fragrance of the tropics in a full line of perfume oil and body products. I use the body lotion and body glow. LOVE! The heavenly scent contains safflower seed oil, shea butter, apricot kernel oil, and cucumber fruit extract. Yummm.....I get so many compliments on my complexion and scent. "Amen" Eden's Edge Music Video

Hey guys!  I did hair and makeup for the principle actors and extras for this video. Roman White was the director. He's always fun to work with. We shot this video in the middle of nowhere Watertown, TN. There were scattered thunderstorms all day but we got it done! The band had their friends and family come be extras in the shoot. It was so cute and fun. I can see Eden's Edge going really far. Enjoy!
