Keatyn Swift (model) and Erick Anderson (photographer) came to me with a concept to do a shoot with mud. They left it up to me to choose the mediums so I came up with the idea to use modeling clay instead of real mud. I loved how the clay dried on the skin because it created different values of grey and formed a really cool crackle texture. After applying the clay I used black soot loose powder to contour and define then to finish it off I applied gold leaf to some areas for contrast. Here are some behind the scene shots and the finished edit. Enjoy!

New favorite product! Aveda Mosscara
Today I trained with the amazing Aveda makeup artist Lawrie Wallace and she showed me some tips and tricks with Aveda makeup. I had a big Aha moment when she taught me another way to use the mascara also known as Mosscara because of its conditioning properties. With a blend of Iceland moss and other pure plant extracts this product will leave your lashes lush and soft while delivering thickness and rich lasting color.
This 2 in 1 acts as a mascara for thick bold lashes and also a liquid liner. Here's how to use for a liner:
Use the Mosscara wand to scrap a little product onto a disposable cosmetic spatula. Take Avedas retractable lip brush and dip the tip of the brush in the mosscara. Next, starting at the top lash line draw a precise line from the inner to outer eye getting close to the lashes. Go over the line again to add a richer pigment. If you want a classic 50's look wing the line slightly up and outward.
Product located at Natural Oasis a WIlliam Edge Salon and Spa
Mosscara $18
Retractable brush $16
